The Lord Almighty is with us;

Psalms 46:11 -The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

The description in Psalms 46 is very real in today's context. Nations are in uproar as we see the destruction unfolding in Ukraine. The earth seems to be giving way due to the effects of the pandemic and climate change. Economies are on a spiralling descend. Some stock exchanges are seeing a terrible lost in revenue. The many sanctions by the world leaders only propel the enemy to further achieve his selfish ambitions. Fear, hopelessness and despair are the common breaking news of the mainstream media. Some are even suggesting that WW III is on the horizon.

Yet in the midst of all this uncertainty the scriptures give us hope. Hope not in the things of this world bur on God the Lord God Almighty. Every verse in this Psalms speaks of how God intervenes into human spheres, especially in its time of need and here in verse 11, there psalmist declares that we can be still because God, the Almighty God, His presence is with us.

And because God is with us, we are assured of His presence in every situation in life. No matter what the devil will throw across our way, we can rest assured that the God who created this universe is with us and we can take refuge in Him.

Friends that is all that we need in this life. His abiding presence. Yes there can be war, there can be sickness, there can be uncertainty but because God is with me, I need not fear for God has everything concerning me under His control. All I need to do is to be still and know that He is the Almighty God. I just need to trust and rest in Him.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.

Certainly He will.

Prayer

Lord thank you that you are the Almighty God and I can trust you for all the situations in my life. Today we remember the people of Ukraine. We pray you will intervene, restore order, cancel and nullify the works fo the enemy and let the nations know there is a Almighty God whom we can trust. We pray in Jesus name. Amen.
