Some mission updates - Assam and Odisha
Bishop Samuel Sharma reported 4 new baptism in Assam. In spite of the COvid19 situation, souls are still being added into the kingdom of God.
Bishop Anjan paid another visit to Utesi village in the mountains. He was amazed to see the progress our Church Planter has been doing. The children are learning to sing and pray.
What a joy to see this. Through these kids the families will be won to the Lord.
The team also conducted their first opener meeting in the village. The villages listen to the message without any resistance. The Lord has already started to work in the lives of these people. These are very poor people and they live like "early man". But they too are made in the image of God and they need Jesus.
From Bishop Anjan also visited another nearby village which is about 3 Km from Utesi. This new village is about 3000 ft above sea level. It was very difficult to reach there because of the terrain and it is the last village of this mountain. "We are requested by the few people to visit again and have a prayer meeting. If God willing then next week we may visit this village too", Bishop Anjan reported. "I really feel that I'm in a different world in this village", Bishop Anjan sighed. They are so backward compared to the rest of the country.
I can’t imagine that people are still living in these conditions, even in today's world of great advancement. And they are not very far from the main towns. We are indeed grateful to our church planters who are going to the ends of the world, fulfilling the Great Commission. I was very moved by these pictures. I wish we can do more and reach all the 22 villages in those mountains. We need you help to do this.
I am thankful to the people who came forward to sponsor this work in the mountains. We appreciate everyone who has encouraged us, supported us in prayer and have been part of this exciting journey. May the Lord richly reward you.
May the name of Jesus be lifted up in every village in Odisha.
