Shadrach Home - Life begins

Image
17 Boys have started their first month in the Home. We are expecting another 3 more boys to join by the end of Jun. We thank God for giving us this opportunity to nurture these boys. Our prayer is that they will become the future missionaries of India to Europe. Right now we are looking for committed people, who believe in our vision, to sponsor a child. It takes only Singapore $50 to sponosr a child for a month. We are looking for people who will make long term commitments, willing to see these boys through the youth until we release them as missionaries. You will become the "adopted guardian" of the child. My wife Jeya will be the coordinator for the Home. She will update you on the progress of each child you sponsor and will help to maintain the funds for the Home. The spiritual supervision for the Home will be given by Rev John Signey (India) and Pst K Steven (S'pore), in collaboration with people who were responsible for this vision. If you are keen to be part of thi...

New work started in the slum

Image
Since Apr 2011, PEC support to the work in Moti Nagar has been discontinued as CBN wanted to revamp the whole area and support. We felt that it was God's timing and were blessed to have partnered CBN in supporting the work in Moti Nagar slum for the past seven years. Since than we have moved on and started a children's program PEC-Jeevan Jyothi Center in another slum in Mudfort, Hyderabad. The youth inaugurated the program during the last visit in May. About hundred children are receiving free tuition daily and at the same time learning about the Love of God. About hundred families live in this pathetic slum which has no electricity or toilet facilities. We intend to sponsor some of these kids to government school.

Proclaimers - Faith Comes by Hearing

Image
With the help of Larry Rutland, the Senior Development Director of Haggai Institute, we were able to secure 10 proclaimers from "Faith Comes by Hearing". Larry was kind enough to pay for the shipment of these equipment to Hyderabad from the US. These proclaimers operate on solar energy and carry recorded Scriptures in the local languages. O ur vision is that "Every village in Andhra Pradesh will hear the gospel of Jesus Christ". There are a total of 26,000 villages in AP. They all come under the 23 districts. We have Rural Area Evangelism Team Coordinators in each of the 23 Districts and each month they are reaching out to as many villages as they can. By God's grace we have reached out to more than 4,000 villages in the last five years and as a result of this effort more than 300 churches/cells have been established. Many of the people in the villages cannot read or write and hence the proclaimers have been very useful for them to hear th...

Reaching the ends of the world

One of the participants in the HI Maui Feb 11 batch has found a innovative way of sharing the gospel. He has designed an Evangelistic website in www.searchformeaning.webs.com for reaching out through the use of internet. Someone has done a research saying that there are around 2 million people searching for religious issues online everyday. Therefore, he has responded to such call in reaching out to help these people find Jesus and experience the love of God. Already many people are calling in to make inquires. The site is in English and Chinese and is receiving many queries. If you are willing to help him further, please copy and paste the following info into public walls of your friends in Facebook. " Searching for real love? Come and see this site: www.searchformeaning.webs.com " For the Chinese readers, you may copy and paste: "寻找真爱,请上网查看 www.searchformeaning.webs.com " Asriel, you are doing great. may the Lord bless the work of your hands and many...

Baptism during the May trip to AP

Image
It was a joy to baptize 9 people in a pond at the AP/Orissa border. Most of them speak their tribal language. But they are full of worship for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The water in the pond was muddy and this place is in Araku Valley. I was informed by our youth leader that PEC youths are raising funds to build a church in the village in Orissa. They are also planning to adopt the work started in the slum in Hyderabad. Please pray that these youths will rise up and continue the race we have started.

Mission Trip to AP 27 May - 05 Jun - Completed

Image
Praise God for another wonderful trip to AP. Six youths joined me and my wife on this trip. Most of them were making their first trip to India. The weather was hot as expected but we survived by God's grace. About 60 pastors turned up for the Leadership and Evangelism seminar. I was able to share my heart with them and take active steps to reach all the villages of AP. Many were blessed and were challenged to reach the villages in AP for Christ. We dedicated 5 new churches. Some of them were in the interior parts of AP where people still lived in huts and tigers roamed in the night. We really praise God for our church planters who have penetrated deep into the forest to reach the unreached. We also had some challenges along the way. Due to the high temperature, about 45 deg C, one of our team members went into a heat stroke and lost consciousness. We were in the middle of nowhere and we prayed desperately. Praise God he recovered. I know of cases of people who have died...
