Reflecting on the trip to Maui 19 Apr - 23 May

Video - A tribute by Session 828 - "To Rama with Love"

God is good and showed His favor. 58 participants from 23 countries. It was an amazing experience to be the Resident Coordinator for Session 827 and Session 828. Men from different walks of life but with a heart for the Lord. Great men who were challenged to make strides in evangelism. Managing the sessions was hectic but thanks to Raffy and the team, always on the sidelines to render help. The faculty was also great. Prof Arthur is a mentor, a role-model to follow and one who is passionate about what he does for the Lord. Truly a man after God's heart.

The volunteers in Maui were a lesson for us. A lesson in devotion and service for the Master. Larry and Val are a gift from the Lord to HI. Their service is inspirational.

Cal and Terrie were like family. A great couple with passion just the same. Cherished the times we spend at the dining table. Conversations about the ministry, family brought a kindred spirit in our lives. The morning service with them at the church in the country side and the breakfast together with Julius from Uganda was delightful. Thanks for the lovely gift for Jeya.

The tributes to the sponsors was emotional. Gene wept in silence as the men from S827 sang from their hearts. Don Disney could not hold himself. The self composed song from S828 overcame him. "THANK YOU"
Unforgettable memories:
  • Praying with Achaan Rajan were simply overwhelming.
  • Nights in the prayer room with Julian, Moni, Rajan, Chandra, Eric and Christian. God's spirit moved in a quiet but powerful way. Some fell prostrate on the floor, just like John the Apostle when he had the vision of our Lord.
  • Walk with Ibrahim to Pilani Centre one evening. How my heart pounded as he shared his life. God cares for his people.
  • Morning prayers at 6.30am with Emmanuel, Tension, Vicley, Daryl, Aerial, Velantine, Fikru, Joey and Ronnie. Faithful men who were there every morning. Of course there was Eric and the rest.
  • 19 May - 50th Birthday came as a surprise. Flung into the air by S828. Wow....Missed my family though.
  • "Unofficial chruch meetings" at Starbucks (AOG HQ) with Ioan and the gang. Not forgetting the ice-cream.
  • The 40 min walk to Shangri-la with Christian.
Lesson in humility. Bishop Whal Abraham broke every one's heart when he addressed the volunteers in their devotion. By going down on his knees to wash the feet of the volunteers was simply heartbreaking. The Spirit of God just moved so powerfully that there was no dry eye in the crowd. That service was a reminder that I am nothing. What I am is purely by the Grace and the Mercy of God

Thank God for the memories. Love to go back to Maui.

  2. Friend and brother Rama,
How we feel God's presence whenever you are around, be it for a small talk or just for a few reminders on how we're going to spend the the next few minutes and hours of the sessions. How you become a basic model and good example for all of us, for having disciplined us and yet still stay holy. ee u the good work!
