When faith begins to waver

Scripture:   “But David thought to himself, ‘One of these days I will be destroyed by the hand of Saul.’”  — 1 Samuel 27:1   Introduction   Faith doesn’t always fail with a crash — sometimes it fades quietly under the weight of waiting. When prayers seem unanswered and the journey stretches on, even the strongest believer can feel the strain. David’s story in  1 Samuel 27:1   reminds us that the fiercest battles are often not fought on the field, but in the mind.   When faith grows weary, fear begins to reason — and reason without revelation always leads us away from God.   The mighty warrior who once stood fearless before Goliath now trembles before Saul. It wasn’t a fall into moral sin, but a fall into despair — a moment when faith gave way to fear, and the man after God’s own heart began listening to his own reasoning instead of God’s voice.   A collapse of faith in a mighty man   David was no ordinary believer. His life had been mark...

Visit to Kairos Cornerstone Community – 17–20 October

Image
This past weekend, we had the privilege of being at  Kairos Cornerstone Community  for the wedding of  Jeremy and Ririn . Jeremy is the eldest son of  Bishop Ezra and Pastor Janice , who over the years have become more like family to us. It was truly a  family wedding  in every sense of the word. The wedding took place on   Saturday, 18 October , and I had the honour of sharing the Word during the   Holy Matrimony   service. More than six hundred people attended. Though the service lasted close to two hours, it was deeply meaningful and filled with emotion, especially for both families. It was also a joy to meet members of  Bishop Ezra’s extended family , many of whom had travelled from  Medan and Jakarta . Quite a number of them could still speak Tamil, although they were fluent in Bahasa Indonesia. I took the opportunity to share the gospel message during the ceremony, praying that the Holy Spirit would continue to work in their h...

Mission Field Visit Report – Koraput District, Odisha

Image
Date of Visit : 7 Oct 25 Field Worker : CP Pintu Muduli Submitted by : Bishop Anjan   Dear Sir,   Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are glad to share with you the encouraging update from our recent visit to one of the new mission fields in the  Koraput District . This village represents the fruit of  one year of faithful labour  by our Church Planter,  CP. Pintu Muduli . The journey to this remote village was quite challenging, as there is still  no proper road access . We were only able to drive halfway and had to walk the rest of the distance on foot. Yet, every step was filled with anticipation and joy. Upon reaching the village and meeting the people, our hearts were overwhelmed.    CP Pintu has stated a small fellowship and people are gathering worship Jesus as Lord. We were warmly welcomed by the villagers, and with great joy, compassion, and a sense of holy burden, we shared the Gospel with them. Their openness an...

The Word—Our Lamp and Our Light

Image
Scripture:   “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”  —  Psalm 119:105   Many times in life we find ourselves asking,   “What is God’s plan and purpose for me?”  We long for clarity — a sign from heaven, a prophetic word, or a divine voice thundering from the clouds to tell us exactly what to do. But more often than not, that’s not how God reveals His will.   God speaks most clearly and consistently through   His written Word — the Bible . It is through Scripture that He directs our paths, shapes our values, and reveals His heart. Someone once said that the Bible is  “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.”   Indeed, it is God’s instruction manual for living — timeless truth that guides us through life’s ever-changing circumstances. When we open the pages of Scripture with faith and obedience, the Holy Spirit uses it to show us where to walk, what to avoid, and how to live. That’s what the psalmist discovered when ...

Don’t be anxious

Image
Philippians 4:6-7  - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.   In life, we often encounter people who seem unshaken in the face of crisis. They remain calm, steady, and composed when everything around them feels uncertain. For me, I see this clearly in my wife. Perhaps it is her background as a nurse, or perhaps it is simply her God-given temperament, but she carries herself with a remarkable sense of calmness and composure even in the most trying situations. I have seen her face tense and uncertain moments with a steady spirit, rarely allowing panic to take hold.   I, however, find myself on the other side of the spectrum. While I may look calm outwardly, inwardly I can be a storm of restless thoughts, fears, and anxieties. It doesn’t take much for worry to r...
