Mission Trip to Nepal. Bhutan and North East India

The trip was from 26 Oct to 4th Nov. The team comprised Pst John Daniel, Bro James Ng, Bro Issac Babu and myself. This was the most challenging and adventurous trip I have ever undertaken. We departed on 26 Oct in the evening for Chennai and the next day arrived at Bagdogra, staging through Kolkatta.
We visited a pioneering work in East Nepal, started by one of our church planters who was a graduates of our PEC School of Ministry. Its located in a village and the work is coming up well and about 30 members gather for worship. This congregation is ready for a new church building. We were blessed to see how the work was progressing in Nepal. Currently there are 7 church planters in Nepal who need support.

The next few days we traveled winding roads up the mountains and visited and dedicated 7 churches. One in Sikkim, two in Darjeeling, one  at the Bhutan Border and three in Assam. The roads were treacherous in some places. In some places there was no road. It was truly the Lord's protection that kept us safe. The temperatures up the mountains was cold but the sights were awesome. The mountains, the valleys and the rivers and Mt Everest at the background was simply heavenly.

The new church in Sikkim was up in the mountain and we had to walk jungle trails for at least 30 minutes and climb about 1000 ft to reach the church. But the effort was worth it when we saw the group of believers in the new church and worship God in their own language. Most of the members live in the mountains and some have to travel, by walking, more than 15km to reach the church

The people in Assam were mainly tribal. Some of the tribes do not have the Bible in their own language. We had to travel deep into the interior to reach these tribal people. What a joy to see them worshiping Jesus as their Lord. The presence of the Lord was so powerful during the meetings that we simply stood in awe.

We also took time to take some sessions in the Training Center. Currently 16 students are undergoing training. Most of this batch are young adults and on fore for the Lord. All wanting to go as church planters after graduation. I assured them that God can use anyone, regardless of age, as long as one is committed to Him.

The last meeting was a a combined youth meeting held in Nava Jeevan Christian Church in Jaigoan. About 60 youths attended the meeting and Pst John Daniel spoke in the meeting.

We want to thank God for a challenging  but wonderful trip. We can see the labor in the field is bearing fruits. Our Coordinator, Rev Samuel Sharma and the team of church planters are working hard in the fields. We praise God for all sponsors and PEC Singapore for its passion in missions. We thank all who have remembered us in your prayers. All

All Glory to God
