You cannot be defeated by the devil

Because Jesus has already defeated him on the cross of Calvary. We fight from victory not for victory. In almost all the incidents in the Bible, when men of God or the church rise up in the power of the Holy Spirit, the devil is also aroused to oppose or disrupt the plans of God. But in-spite of his nervous agitations, the  devil and his allies always end in failure and the chosen of God parade in triumphant victory. Strangely the devil who tried to confuse the plans of God ends up  helping to fulfill them. What an irony. In the Book of Acts, after the Holy Spirit came upon the church, they moved with such an anointing that even the gates of hell was threatened. The devil and his forces immediately regrouped and tried to frustrate the works of the Holy Spirit. He made the religious leaders to rise against the apostles and even brought in persecution. Some of them were martyred. The devil thought it will end the work of the Holy Spirit. But he was mistaken. Instead, the...

This Sunday I will be leaving for Yangon for a short to trip. I will be back on 1 Jul evening. The objective of this trip is:: Opening of the Certificate in Theology Program for 10 church planters. This is will the first initiative PEC is venturing in Myanmar in partnership with Myanmar Theological Collage (MTC) Finalize plans with Pst John Phong Shah on the training program. By God's grace we were able to rsie the money for the renovation of the dormitory and the training program. Kindly remember the program, the CPs and all the arrangements in prayer. As this is the first initiative, you can imagine the evil forces will be working overtime to disrupt the plans. I have been sick the last two days and on MC. Its very rare that I take MC but this time is was quite bad. Also remember Bro James and his wife in prayer. They have been such a strong supporter for PEC missions.  Isaiah 59: 19 - When enemies come in like a flood,  the Spirit of the...

Appreciation Dinner

Image
Last night the church board held an appreciation dinner for Elder Ho, Elder Mathews and their spouses. After many years of faithful service both the brothers are stepping down from the church board. Both brothers have served the PEC board over  many years and have stood by difficult and painful challengers. Being a member of PEC board has never been easy. There were moments that we had to make unpopular decisions, face ridicule and at times summoned before government authorities. Many would have loved to see the church destroyed. But tts purely by God's grace we have survived thus far and still surging ahead even more strongly. It is therefore with gratitude that we honor these brethren and their wives for their sacrifice, love and faithfulness to the work of the Lord.  So we see a changing of the guards almost complete. Just one more and it will not be long. Bro Ho and Sis Madelene continue as members of PEC whilst Bro Mathews and Sis Elsie, together with their childre...

PEC Church Camp 2014 - 12-16 Jun

Image
Church camps have been a regular feature in PEC's history. Its a time of feeding on the Word as a family and bonding. It rejuvenates the soul, spirit and the family. This year is no exception. But this year's church camp broke all records. 121 people attended the camp , with some others coming in for day sessions only. It was held in Pulai Springs, Johor. We also prayed much before the camp, that this will not be like any other. A time of revival and moving forward in the right direction. The Lord did not disappoint us. Good word from Pst Daniel Moses and good fellowship. The results are to be seen in the days to come and I believe we will.  We also celebrated Father's Day as well in the camp. Reminded me of my own father, a man of discipline and no-nonsense. A true disciple leaving behind a true legacy. I was especially touched by the words of Pst Nehemiah, who was invited to attend the camp,..."You are the father of us all in India". If that i...
