Speaking engagement

Image
It was a privilege again to speak at  Emmanuel Church of Singapore. The church was full and I thank God for ministering to the people. I spoke on "Am I Living God on God's Agenda or my Agenda" taking insights from the Book of Jonah. The people were blessed and so was I. Praise God

Children's work reported in local newspaper.

The Tabla Newspaper ( a local English newspaper for Indian expats) carried an article on our work among children in India. You can read it at: http://www.tabla.com.sg/jr/jrpc.php?param=2014-08-22 Page 13, last two columns.  It featured two of our volunteers who stayed in the Shadrach Home, one for 3 months and another for two weeks. Its not easy for Singaporeans to leave their comfort zone and stay in places like that.We thank God for people who love the Lord and have a passion to see children come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. We hope to see more volunteers from Singapore going to these places to nature and shape these boys in the ways of the Lord.  We also have a similar center in Orissa. There's much to be done both at home and in the nations. We need you.

Just an inspiration

Opposition, persecution and distractions faced in pursuit of the Great Commission are but ripples of a disorganised, disoriented disillusioned enemy. When the ripples dissipate, those who persevere would have found the enemy in disarray and the spoils beaconing harvest - 1 Sam 14:15 - 20

Mark 10:46-52.People follow a man with a vision

Image
While on a flight to Yangon on 10 Aug, the flight was diverted to Penang due to a medical emergency. We were on the ground, sititng in the aircraft for about three hours. I turned to the scriptures and this passage showed some interesting insights on vision . We see Jesus, a man of vision while Bartimaeus was without. The scriptures tell us that a large crowd followed Jesus and he was leading them from Jericho to Jerusalem (v46). This is what happens when a man has a vision. He is a blessing to a large group of people and people follow him because they know he has something that's worth following. John Maxwell says that if you are a leader and do not have any followers , you are just taking a walk in the park. Bartimaeus, on the other hand without vision, was living off the blessings of the large crowd. He was dependent on someone else. Many in the church today do not have any sense of a God given vision. They are always running to some "prophet" or the church leade...

1st Batch church Planters in Myanmar Introduction Bro James and I went on this trip. The objective of this trip was to conduct training for our 1 st batch of church planters. Exciting Departure We departed Singapore on 10 Aug. Everything appeared normal until one hour into the flight. The aircraft captain announced that the aircraft has to divert to Penang due to a medical emergency. On landing at Penang, we learnt that one of the passengers had died in flight. By the time we arrived in Yangon, we were delayed by three hours. On the same day on our way to the hotel, our car was hit by a van. It was raining and the roads were slippery. We missed the front car by a few millimetres. Thank God there was no injury, only damage to the car. Those in the car realised that if not for God’s intervention, things could have been worst. Praise God. We realised that the gates of hell are being threatened by our activities and hence these distractions. But God is still in Cont...

In this world you will have tribulations...Jesus -John 16:33

Convert or die. ISIS militants are crucifying victims because to them crucifixion is especially humiliating due to its Christian implications Its heart wrenching to hear about the persecution the Christians are going through in Iraq and in that region. Children are being killed at gun point, women are raped mercilessly, other crucified for their faith. Thousands forced out of their homeland to live as refugees or face instant death A child is photographed, waiting to be killed by militants. I am reminded of the verse in the Bible wehere our forefathers also went through a similar plight. Hebrews 11:35-38 - There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection, some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment.   They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated—   the w...

Update from NE India

Baptism of a tribal lady in Sikkim Rev Samuel Sharma reported that our church planters have baptized 74 people with another 49 ready for baptism. The ministry is growing but limited by funds. God is doing a great work out there. We are so blessed to be part of this great work the Lord is doing. This simple structure was put up by our church planter Martha. A group of about 20 people are gathering in this village at the border of Bhutan and Assam. I remember when we visited her in Feb, she asked for $200 to built the church and this is the result. I guess she must have put in more money from her end. She is really a blessing working for the Master with a great passion for souls. Prayer Needs: Pastor Arun from Lebong Darjeeling  is in urgent need a church Building.

Trip to Myanmar

This Sunday Bro James and I leave for Yangon for five days. The purpose is to conduct sessions for the new church planters. We will be teaching on Spiritual Leadership and Spiritual Gifts. Please keep us in your prayers.

Prayer for the Nation

Image
To night we gather to praise God for the many years of God's favor on our nation and also to uphold the various needs and challenges in prayer. The future is uncertain but we know God will see us through. Our beginning   Deut 7:7-9 - The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments . Our future Isaiah 43:2 - When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not...
