God’s Unexpected Provision
I want to share how God reminded me of His faithfulness this week.
We were running low on funds for the mission work, and I had been praying the whole week, “Lord, please do a miracle. Move some rich person to give.” We usually sent out the funds on the first day of the month.
Yesterday, God answered, right on time. But it wasn’t from a rich person or from someone I expected. It came from a person I would never have thought of. Even though this person is very simple, doing a very simple partitme-time job with less than a $1000 a month income, this person gave generously. I was so overwhelmed, I broke down in tears.
Isaiah 55:8 came alive to me: “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord.”God’s ways are truly higher.
It reminded me of Elijah in 1 Kings 17, when God used ravens, unlikely messengers, to feed him by the brook. Likewise, God used someone unexpected to meet the needs of His work.
Friends, Philippians 4:19 is true: “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” God provided at the exact time, in His way, through His chosen vessel.
t reminded me of 1 Corinthians 1:27: “God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.” God deliberately used someone unexpected so that no one could take the credit, and He alone gets the glory.
All I can say is what Psalm 115:1 declares: “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to Your name be the glory, because of Your love and faithfulness.”
You too can trust Him for provisions. No matter what you need maybe, call upon Him.
God is amazing. His timing is perfect. And He often uses people we least expect — so that He alone gets the glory.
