Baptism programs and our children of Jeevan Jyoti

Image
The following report from our Coordinator in Orissa Dear Sir, Here I send some of the pictures of our Baptism programs and our children of Jeevan Jyoti. We do request you to please pray for our PEC workers, those who are working so hard to establish churches in different places of Orissa. Even though the situation is not allowing us to do evangelize openly, yet our pastors are progressing day by day. It is by the grace of God and through your prayer and support. Thank you for keeping us. Thanking you Sir! Pastor Anjan.

Hard sayings of Jesus - Love your enemies

Image
"God I forgive but you teach them a lesson"... Have you ever thought or prayed like that? Have you ever thought or asked God to punish your "enemies"? Or that they will, "reap the consequences of their acts" ? I have done so many times, especially when the torrent of attacks keep coming like a flood and there's no end in sight. But the scriptures made me small again. Discern the difference of what is carnal and what is of the Spirit. Listen to the words of Jesus. Matthew 5:43-45 - You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; The Bible is full of paradoxes, in the sense its opposite to the normal human way of thinking. In some cases, it even makes one to wonder if following the scriptures to the letter

Mission Trip to Tamil Nadu 9-15 Apr 12

It was an amazing trip again. Eight other joined me and my wife on this trip. We arrived Trivendrum on 9 Apr in the evening. Pst John Signey and his team were at the airport to receive us. Our Pst John Daniel and his son Jonathan, joined us for the first two days of the trip. The following day we visited the children at the Shadrach Home. The kids were simply awesome. The entire team was simply blown over by the boys. It was a total reversal of what we saw last year when the boys were just new to the Home. They were so disciplined and obedient this time. In one year the boys have learnt so much. They put up an hour's program for us. They sang songs in English and Tamil and recited so many scriptures that they put the adults to shame. They even put up a few skits. These boys are full of potential and we are sure that God has specifically selected each one of them. As I sat and watched the boys perform, I was moved to tears. I asked a few boys what they wanted to do in

I failed... but it was not my fault....

Exodus 5:22-23 - Moses returned to the LORD and said, “ Why have you brought trouble on this people? Is this why you sent me ? Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble on these people, and you have not rescued your people at all.” A strange phenomena in life, especially in christian service, is that at some point we are bound to meet with failure or a setback. I have yet to meet someone who can say that they have never failed once. Be it in business, in moral life, in the family or specially when serving God on His given assignment, there always appears this "pit stop" that conjures varied forms of emotions and reactions. The usual feature that appears in the encounter with failure is that most often than not, we seldom admit full responsibility for the failures. One of my favorite characters in the Bible is Jonah. When the sea became boisterous and the crew was in distraught, Jonah said, in Jonah 1:12 - “Pick me up an

Choices that determine your destiny

Heb 11:24 -27 - By faith Moses, when he had grown up, r efused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward . By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. Life is a journey of making choices. From the time we are up in the morning to the time we go to bed, there are so many choices we make. What time to get up, what to eat, where to go, what to do, who to meet.....etc. Choices are made at the various phases of life, be it for education, for social interaction, relationships, career, marriage and even for matters after death. Many of these choices are routine and seem insignificant. But some of the choices we make affect our destiny, the plans and purposes of God for our lives. In

My brother Kumar's Memorial Service - 31 Mar 12

It was held in Praise Evangelical Church in Sembawang, Singapore. About 130 relatives and friends attended the service. Pastor Milton opened the service in prayer and Bro Jerome led in worship. Bro Rajoo and Sis Katherine from PEC paid tributes to Kumar. They recounted his passion for missions and how he had been a blessing to them and the world. I delivered the eulogy, very similar to the one shared during his funeral service in Virginia Beach. Pastor John Daniel shared the message. The thrust of his message was, Kumar has done his part, we need to do ours . We screened four video clips on his life and passion. The celebration ended with dinner at PEC compound. Poem read by Katherine: In loving memory of Bro. Kumar Don't think of him as gone away-his journey's just begun, life holds so many facets-this earth is only one. . . Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be w
