Jason and Joanna’s Wedding - 25 Sep 2025

On 24 September, we arrived in Hyderabad at about 9:20 pm. Jeya cleared immigration without any issue, but because of my previous experience, I was once again called into a room for questioning. By the time we were finally cleared, it was close to midnight. Truly, it was the hand of God that saw us through. At moments of crisis, God often uses unexpected people to help us, and this was one such occasion. Special thanks to all who prayed for us.

Bishop Nehemiah was patiently waiting for us at the airport, and together we drove to Nalgonda—a two-hour journey.

The wedding of Jason and Joanna took place on 25 September in a large hall in the city, quite an impressive venue for a small town. Jason is someone very dear to us. We have known him since childhood, watching him grow from a mischievous lad into a fine young man. He has even accompanied us on some of our trips, always respectful and helpful. It was a great joy to witness his wedding day.

Joanna is also someone we have known since her early years. Her father, Pastor Bangaru, was one of the students in our CP training centre many years ago. Seeing her step into this new chapter of life was especially meaningful.

The program began about an hour later than planned, but the joy of the occasion far outweighed the wait. Over 2,000 guests were in attendance, including many of our PECM pastors. I had the privilege of sharing the Word and conducting the wedding together with Bishop Nehemiah. My message was entitled “The First Marriage” , the text taken from Genesis 2:18–25. Though the ceremony was simple, it was deeply dignified and filled with the presence of God. It was a special moment for both families—Bishop Nehemiah’s and Pastor Bangaru’s.

Afterwards, a wonderful lunch was served with the finest hospitality. Brother Suresh from Rasoolpura Church, who has always been kind and helpful, took care of us with great warmth.

We have seen him grow from a teenager into a devoted son, husband, father, and faithful servant in the church. God has blessed them with two wonderful boys.

Later, Brother Kumar and his family took us shopping in town. Over the years, he too has become a dear brother to us. As a businessman with a shop in Secunderabad, he never charges us for anything we pick up, saying it is his privilege to serve God’s servants. His generosity and humility continue to bless us.

On 26 September, we left Nalgonda at 4:00 am and reached the airport around 6:40 am. By God’s grace, there were no issues with customs or immigration, and we arrived safely back in Singapore that evening. After a shower and dinner, I even managed to report for my night shift at work.

Looking back, my heart is filled with gratitude. I thank God for my wife, who—even when in disagreement—has always stood patiently by my side. Truly, much of what we have accomplished in ministry would not have been possible without her love and support.

We are also deeply thankful for Bishop Nehemiah and his family. Over the years, our ministry engagements have bonded us together like family. Indeed, the Bishop introduced us to others as “his family,” an honour and humbling gesture that touched our hearts. He has faithfully served the Lord with humility, even while holding a high position, and has always extended the same servant-hearted love toward us. Many declare with their lips, but few demonstrate with their lives. Bishop Nehemiah is on such person. May the Lord bless him and his ministry manyfold.

To God be the glory for this wonderful time, the privilege of witnessing Jason and Joanna’s union, and the joy of sharing in the bonds of Christian fellowship.
