Mission Trip to Odisha

Arrived Singapore from Medan on 24 Feb at about 7pm. Waited until 10:00pm for Jeya to arrive from KL. She went there to attend a colleague's weeding. Next morning on 25 Feb attended Sunday morning service at 10AM and in the afternoon, Jonathan drove me to the airport for my next assignment.

On 25 Feb, Ajith and I departed Singapore at about 4:30PM for Vizag via KL. This is Ajith's first mission trip. Somehow he managed to get his leave approved and was able to make it for the trip. The flight journey to Vizag was uneventful and Bishop Anjan was at the airport to receive us.

From there we travelled by road to a new district, Nabaringpur, to see the church planting work done by PEC church planters. It was a long drive through winding mountain roads and forests. I was not well and was nauseating.  I had to stop along the way a few times to throw out. I guess it was the food I ate on AirAsia. Lesson learn: No food on board budget flights.

By the time we reached our "hotel" it was about 5:00AM in the morning. Dead tired and we rested for about three hours. We were greeted by one of our church planter Pst Vikram. He is overseeing the work in this district. He made the local arrangements for us.

That day we went to visit three church planting works in the villages.

The first village is called Rangamatiguda. and we arrived there about 10:10AM. The church planter here Pst Dhashamaan. Although it was a working day some people came for the service. They singing was lively and the worship heartfelt. About 15 people have accepted the Lord and the work is growing.
We arrived at the second village Paknaguda at about 12noonThe CP in this village is Pst Shekar. This is another house church and another group of people hungry for the Lord. So good to see their sincerity in worshipping God. I shared on Psalms 23 and pray for those with needs.
We arrived at the third village at about 3:50pm after a sumptuous lunch at Pst Vikram's house. Both Pst Vikram and his wife have a real passion for church planting. His wife is from Jammu-Kashmir and I was also eyes and ears opened when I heard about the need for church planting in that area. Let's pray for God's leading.

This village is called Loharakni. This is also another house church and the CP here is Pst Soban Kumar. Pst Soban has a music ministry and has a worship band that plays in churches and seminars.
All these are new work started a few months ago by PEC trained church planters. The potential for growth is tremendous.
