A Tribute to My Wife — On Our 40th Wedding Anniversary

On 11 January 2026, we marked forty years of marriage, a milestone that fills my heart with gratitude to God and deep appreciation for the woman who has walked beside me through every season of life.

You have been more than a wife; you have been a faithful companion, a steadfast partner, and a wonderful mother to our children. Your love for God has always been the foundation of your life, and from that love flows your devotion to our family. Our children have always known your care, guidance, and strength and I have watched with admiration the way you nurture and protect them.

Through the many challenges we have faced, especially the difficult mission journeys and demanding seasons of ministry, you have stood by my side. Calm in pressure, steady in uncertainty, and resilient in hardship, you have been a source of strength when I needed it most. Your discernment and spiritual sensitivity have often brought clarity and wisdom, reminding me that nothing escapes the notice of a heart anchored in God.

You are honest, genuine, and true to yourself. Though you may not always express it outwardly, I know the depth of your love and commitment. You have never walked ahead alone but have honoured our journey together with unity and partnership. Even in moments when we differed, your loyalty and devotion have remained unwavering.

Today, I thank God for you, for your faith, your love, your courage, and your companionship through four decades. I cherish you deeply and look forward to growing old together, continuing to serve the Lord side by side in the years ahead.

Devotion - Psalms 44: 6-7 - Its God who gives the victory

Psalms 44:6-7 - I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame. Any soldier will know that the basic weapon of warfare, in those days, were the bow and sword. Without which no soldier will not venture into the battle field. Even the famed Goliath was geared in full battle order when he faced David with the stones and the sling. Isn't it a paradox then that David, one of the finest soldiers Israel had ever produced, proclaims that its not the bow and the sword that gives the victory. Its is the Lord, Jehovah, that gives the victory. I don't think David is trying to say that we should not prepare ourselves for warfare. His concern is that we recognize that ultimately its the Lord that gives the victory.
