North East India 11-17 Apr 2025

This brief but intense mission trip through the mountainous terrain of Sikkim and the remote interiors of Assam was marked by God’s faithfulness and grace. Despite a reduced team of three, including Pastor Matthias Prasanath (City Tabernacle Church, KL) joining us for the first time, the Lord’s purposes prevailed.

Key Objectives Achieved

  • Conducted a two-day Youth Conference in Rangpo, Sikkim, attended by 150 passionate young people.

  • Ministered during the Sunday service at PEC Gangtok and dedicated a new church building in East Sikkim—the 215th in our mission field.

  • Taught at PEC School of Ministry in Jaigaon to 19 eager students, and ministered in two local churches.

  • Visited two church planting works and a children’s program in Assam, covering challenging terrain and remote villages.

Notable Highlights

  • Youth in Sikkim displayed deep hunger for God—a sign of a rising generation for Christ.

  • The church dedication in Dhanukey was a powerful testimony of God’s provision and faithfulness.

  • Believers in Assam worship faithfully despite persecution and extreme conditions, gathering under tents and enduring heat and discomfort with unwavering devotion.

  • Children in Navinagar showed remarkable enthusiasm and joy in worship, revealing the fruit of intentional discipleship.

Key Observations & Needs

  • Ripe Harvest: The spiritual hunger in NE India is immense, but labourers are few.

  • Support Challenges: Church planters survive on minimal allowances (₹3000/month), limiting their ability to minister effectively.

  • Inadequate Facilities: Many churches lack basic amenities—fans, toilets, and chairs.

  • Need for Equipping: There’s a pressing demand for theological training; plans are underway to collaborate with Bible schools for B.Th. programs.

Conclusion

The mission reaffirmed the need for greater investment in this harvest field. We return encouraged, challenged, and full of gratitude for God’s sustaining grace. We thank our prayer partners, sponsors, and faithful co-labourers like Bishop Samuel Sharma. The work is far from over—your continued prayer, partnership, and support are vital as we press on to end gospel poverty in Northeast India.

Contact us if you’re led to partner in any way. Above all, please keep us in your prayers.

To God be the glory.
