Trip to Cebu

Image
At Lapu Lapu This was my first trip to Cebu. I was there at the invitation of Andrew and Josephine from True Life Christian Church. Cebu City. I met this couple in Maui in 2013 during the couples session. As this was a month dedication to Missions in their church, Andrew invited me through Pst Daniel Wong, who was their Missions Pastor. Above all I knew it was in God's plan for me to go to Cebu.  I arrived Cebu on 10 Oct and was received by an entourage from the church. Of course Andrew and Pst Daniel Wong were there. It was a great honor. I was deeply humbled by the Filipino hospitality. They treated me to a fabulous lunch with tuna as the main dish. Later in the evening another great dinner hosted by the Sr Pastor  Dr Pradhan and the mission committee. Simply overwhelmed by their hospitality.  It was a joy to meet Andrew and Josephine and to hear how God is working in their lives and in their family. I was humbled by their humility and sin...

Three important facts about missions

Three important facts about evangelism and missions we should take heed. 1.   Evangelism and missions are the most important function of the church. Yet it is the most neglected. A simple analysis of any church budget would indicate how much importance is attached to this responsibility. You will be surprised to know that most churches spent less than 20% of their income on missions and evangelism when in actual fact it should have been allocated the biggest portion of our budget. Jesus' last words before leaving this earth is, "Go therefore and make disciples". Mat 28:19-20 2.   Missions and evangelism is the only thing we will not be doing in heaven. Because there will be no sinners in heaven. Praise and worship, Bible Study, fellowship will still continue in heaven, not evangelism. If this is true, than we must take this task seriously. 3.   Every individual Christian has the responsibility to share the...

Equip Leadership Training for Emmanuel Church of Singapore

Image
I had the privilege of conducting the training for about 30 church leaders from its various departments. The training was conducted on 20 and 27 Sep in the afternoon. Due to the limited time I was only able to cover 5 lessons of Vol 1 Book 1. In spite of the odd hour, the participants were attentive and eager to learn the ropes of Christian Leadership. Feedback from the sessions were positive. Praise God for the opportunity.

Introduction Praise God for another wonderful trip to Yangon, Myanmar. Bro Samuel came on this trip and it this was his first mission trip. Objectives The objective of the trip was to teach the first batch of church planters on the following: Leadership Principles by myself     Discipleship by Bro Samuel Arrival We arrived Yangon on schedule and went straight to Adonai City Church where Pastor John Phongshah is pastoring. I shared the Word briefly and we had a time of warm fellowship with the members.   Children’s Home After lunch we went to visit the Hlawga Children's Home, located about an hour's drive from Yangon in a village. About 13 children are being housed in the Home. Pst John explained that the purpose of this Home is to take care of children of missionaries who are serving in remote parts of Myanmar. There are no good schools in the mission field and the Home provides an environment where the c...
