Singapore Charismatic Church

This morning I had the joy of ministering at Singapore Charismatic Church in Geylang. I am deeply grateful to Pastor Png for her gracious invitation. She has been incredibly patient and kind toward me. On two previous occasions, I had to withdraw at the last minute because I had overlooked other commitments in my calendar. It seems age is catching up with me—but I truly thank God for her understanding and gracious spirit. I spoke on the topic, "Pray without ceasing".  1 Thessalonians 5:16–18  - Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. A much needed topic in our churches today as many have lost the focus on prayer. I am surprised that in some churches prayer meeting are held once a month when in the Book of Acts it was daily. Only about 10% of the church members attend prayer meetings in most churches. If we want to see revival, growth and see the power of the Holy Spirit, we need...

I rather be a doorkeeper

Image
Psalm 84:10  -  Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere;   I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God   than dwell in the tents of the wicked.   We live in a world that is fast-paced, digital, and overflowing with activity. “Time flies” has become the motto of our generation. Almost every week I hear people say,   “I don’t even know where the time went.”   With limited time and unlimited demands, we are forced to choose what truly matters. But for the Christian, the real question is:   What should be our highest priority?   For David, the answer was clear and simple —   T he presence of God .   David was a king. He had access to royal courts filled with splendour, dignity, and comfort. He could sit on a throne, receive honour, and enjoy every luxury available in his day. Yet when you listen to his heart in Psalm 84:10, none of those things captivated him.   Instead, he says,   “One day in Your...

The God Who Sees Me

“The Angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert.”  -  Genesis 16:7   Genesis 16 introduces us to one of the most tender moments in Scripture ,   the first appearance of “the Angel of the LORD. ” Before this chapter, God walked with Adam, spoke to Cain, and guided Noah and Abraham, but never before does the Bible use this special title. And the remarkable thing is this ,  the very first person to encounter the Angel of the LORD is not a prophet, a king, or a spiritual hero, but Hagar ,  a slave, a foreigner, and a mistreated pregnant woman running into the desert to escape her pain.    The One whom heaven adores comes down to meet a woman whom earth has rejected.   Hagar’s story is especially heartbreaking because the suffering she endured was   not of her own making . She did not choose her circumstances; they were forced upon her. As an Egyptian slave, she had no voice, no rights, and no freedom. She was mistreated b...

The Law of the Spirit of Life

Romans 8:2  –  “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.”   There is a constant struggle within every believer — a tug of war between two opposing forces. Paul describes this in Romans 7 as the conflict between  the law of the flesh  and  the law of the Spirit . The  old man  wants to drag us back into sinful habits, while the  new man  longs to live a life pleasing to God. Paul confessed,  “I want to do what is good, but I don’t... the evil I don’t want to do, this I keep on doing.”   Every sincere Christian knows this inward tension. You love God and desire holiness, yet at times you find yourself pulled toward thoughts, attitudes, or actions that grieve His Spirit. But thank God, the story doesn’t end with defeat. Paul discovered a greater power —  “the law of the Spirit of life.”   The Law of the Flesh   Just because we are Christians does not mean we n...

Weekend at Klang

Image
This weekend, I had the privilege of ministering the Word at  HighPoint Life . This time, Pastor Pathi hosted me, as Pastor Stephen was away in Port Dickson for the  Haggai Experience . Brother Jit kindly picked me up from the airport—it was so good to see him again. Glad to see Pst Patti again and he had been a great host. I was especially glad to see Pastor Pathi’s wife, Usha. She has made remarkable progress—truly a walking miracle. Just a few months ago, she had a serious fall and had to undergo emergency surgery due to bleeding in the brain. It was a critical moment, but God intervened. Today, she can hold conversations and, though her movements are still a little slow, she’s improving steadily. God truly hears the cries of His people. The Sunday morning service was wonderful. It was a joy to meet the members again, especially Flora and the other leaders of the church. I shared on the topic  “Your Calling – The Purpose of the Pit.”  Many responded to the message...

When faith shines brighter than victory

Image
Until now, I’ve never really understood or liked cricket. To me, it was just a game that stirred wild excitement among fans — I thought they were crazy or I was missing something. I watched from a distance, often wondering   why  p eople were so obsessed with it.     But on  31 October , something shifted. I read about  Jemimah Rodrigues , a young Indian female cricketer, who led her team to victory against Australia. I saw something far greater than athletic skill. When the victory came, she cried — and then did something rare. She thanked  Jesus  first.  Yes, Jemimah Rodrigues openly gave God the glory for her success in her interview. In multiple accounts of her post-match interview, Jemimah specifically said, "Firstly I would like to thank Jesus as I couldn't do it on my own," pointing upward before speaking into the microphone. She explained how prayer, Scripture, and her faith in Christ empowered her through a mentally challenging perio...
